TalentLogistiX is URGENTLY HIRING Field Technicians at multiple experience levels (L1, L2, Fiber Optic Splicer) to support installation and operations within mission critical data center environments.
These roles focus on fiber optic infrastructure, cable installation, and network support within highly secure data center environments.
Technicians will work collaboratively with project teams to install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper network systems while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality assurance, and operational integrity.
Location: New Albany, OH
Pay Range: $20.00 - $45.00 Depending on Exp

Level 1: Field Lead Technician (Entry Level – 6mo-2year experience)
The Field Lead Technician (L1) is an entry-level position supporting data center operations under the direct supervision of a mentor technician. This role focuses on non-technical support tasks while providing exposure to data center operations, safety protocols, and fiber optic infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Perform non-technical support tasks including material handling, site escorts, and other operational support duties.
• Assist technicians with installation activities and project labor as assigned.
• Work under the direct supervision of a mentor technicians and follow established procedures.
• Gain familiarity with basic tools, construction practices, and communication network fundamentals
• Assist with cable installation quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) practices.
• Learn fiber optic fiber types, construction methods, and manufacturer specifications to prevent damage.
• Develop familiarity with ISP racks, cabinets, ladder racks, fiber guides, and termination panels.
• Support cable testing procedures and equipment preparation.
• Follow inside plant safety requirements and data center security protocols.
Level 2: Field Lead Technician (Experienced – 3+ years exp)
The Field Lead Technician (L2) performs installation services in accordance with contractual agreements while adhering to technical, quality, and safety standards.
This role operates with limited supervision and performs complex installation in live, mission critical environments.
Responsibilities:
• Execute installation services according to project specifications and technical standards
• Perform installation tasks independently with minimal supervision
• Develop and follow work plans, procedures, and installation scopes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across fiber optic and twisted pair systems, including signal loss, low signal, and interface errors.
• Support quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes.
• Work effectively within live, mission critical data center environments.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Level 1 Field Lead Techs.
Fiber Optic Splicer: Experienced (4+ Years in Fiber Optic Splicing and Testing Required)
The Fiber Optic Splicer is a highly specialized role responsible for advanced fiber network installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
This position requires extensive experience with fusion splicing, OTDR/OLTS testing, and maintaining live networks in mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities:
• Perform fusion splicing to industry standards, achieving consistently low-loss results.
• Splice live fiber networks with minimal service disruption during maintenance windows.
• Conduct OTDR and OLTS testing to verify fiber integrity, identify faults, and measure signal loss.
• Install fiber optic cables in underground, aerial, and indoor environments, including conduit and duct work.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex active fiber network issues.
• Maintain detailed splicing and testing records in Fast Reporter for client reporting.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior technicians and Field Trainees.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, data center security procedures, and OSHA standards.
Qualifications by Level:
Level 1 – Field Service Technician (L1)
• Minimum of 1 year of documented industrial experience or related work.
• Basic technical skills at an entry level
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to make sound decisions
• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
• Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
Level 2 – Field Lead Technician (L2)
• Minimum of 3 years of documented industry experience required
• Fiber optic testing certifications (OTDR / OLTS) preferred
• Fiber Optic Splicing Certification preferred
• Experience working in live, operational mission critical data center environments
• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
Fiber Optic Splicer
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in fiber optic splicing and testing within field environments.
• Proficient in the use of fusion splicing equipment, OTDR and OLTS testing devices, and Fast Reporter software for documentation and reporting.
• Proven ability to perform splicing on live fiber networks during scheduled maintenance windows with minimal disruption to service.
• Experience with cable pulling and installation practices to support fiber deployments across various environments.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities with the ability to read, interpret, and execute fiber network schematics, splice diagrams, and construction plans.
