🛠️ Technical Execution & Responsibilities
Safety Leadership: Maintain and update the site EHS Manual in alignment with OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards.
Environmental Oversight: Manage Title V Air Permits, CEMS data (NOx/CO), water discharge permits, and SPCC plans.
Waste Management: Oversee the manifesting and disposal of hazardous waste; file regulatory reports (Tier II, TRI, DMR).
High-Risk Programs: Audit LOTO programs; verify machine-specific procedures; champion NFPA 70E and Arc Flash compliance.
Confined Space: Maintain inventory and oversee rescue drills and permit issuance for boiler and tank entries.
Operational Authority: Serve as the ultimate escalation point for safety disputes and empower all staff to stop unsafe work.
🛡️ Safety, Quality & Documentation
Incident Management: Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all incidents and near-misses to identify systemic failures.
Reporting: Transition site metrics from lagging indicators (injury rates) to leading indicators (hazard IDs, near-misses).
Case Management: Manage injured worker cases to minimize lost time and ensure proper medical care.
Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary contact for regulatory agencies including OSHA, EPA, and DEP.
📋 Requirements
Experience: 7-10+ years of EHS experience in heavy industry with at least 3 years in construction safety management.
Mandatory Qualifications: OSHA 500 certification.
Preferred Experience: Experience with above ground tank construction and field coatings.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
Certifications: CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) or equivalent preferred.
Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of OSHA (Recordkeeping, PSM) and EPA (Title V, RCRA) regulations; expertise in LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, and Working at Heights.
