• Strong EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) background with experience overseeing engineering, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Proven ability to manage complex capital projects, including schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder coordination.
• Ability to work from the Lake Mary, Florida office with periodic travel to the project site in Utah.
Job Summary:
NAES is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to support an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) retrofit project for a coal-fired power plant. This role will be embedded within the client’s project team and will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in environmental retrofit projects within coal-fired generation and possess a strong EPC background. This position will be primarily based in Lake Mary, Florida, with periodic travel to the project site in Utah.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the planning and execution of the SCR retrofit project from early development through commissioning and project closeout.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful and timely delivery.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the client, EPC contractors, plant personnel, and key stakeholders.
• Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Support outage planning and integration of SCR systems with existing plant infrastructure.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while proactively resolving technical and commercial issues.
• Monitor project progress and prepare regular status reports for senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permitting requirements related to SCR installation.
• Facilitate project meetings, reviews, and decision-making processes to maintain project momentum.
Job Requirements:
• Extensive experience managing SCR or similar environmental retrofit projects (e.g., FGD, baghouse) on coal-fired power plants.
• Strong knowledge of EPC project delivery methodologies and contract management.
• Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills in complex, multi-disciplinary environments.
• Experience coordinating with OEMs, utilities, and regulatory agencies.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to travel to the project site as required.
Education / Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant project management experience, with a significant portion supporting coal-fired power generation or environmental control retrofits.
• Prior experience working with major EPC firms or OEMs is highly desirable.
