Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Electrical Engineer opportunity in Johnson City, TN.

Position Overview:

We’re seeking an Electrical Engineer to support a new facility design project with a strong emphasis on conceptual design, power distribution, and the development of electrical distribution systems from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop conceptual electrical designs including load analysis and system architecture.

· Design power distribution systems—medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV)—including switchgear, transformers, panelboards, grounding, and protective devices.

· Create distribution system layouts from scratch, ensuring reliability, maintainability, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.

· Produce detailed diagrams, equipment specifications, and system calculations.

· Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, architectural, controls) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

· Lead or support design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations.

· Ensure all designs comply with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and client-specific standards.

· Support project planning, cost estimation, and schedule development related to electrical scope.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

· 10+ years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on power distribution and system development.

· Demonstrated expertise in medium- and low-voltage distribution systems, including system modeling and protective device coordination.

· Proven ability to develop electrical distribution systems from concept through detailed design.

· Strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and best practices.

· Proficiency with electrical design tools.

· Familiarity with high-reliability or high-security environments.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Other Job Requirements:

· United States Citizenship

· Ability to obtain a DOE “Q” Clearance
