Title: Energy Marshal - 3 Contract Positions

Job Summary:
NAES is seeking an experienced Energy Marshal to support construction and commissioning activities with a focus on safe energization and control of hazardous energy. This role serves as a key authority in managing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit to Work (PTW), and energization processes, ensuring systems are safely transitioned from construction through commissioning and into operations. The Energy Marshal works closely with construction, commissioning, and operations teams to provide oversight, enforce procedures, and maintain strict control over when and how systems are energized.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary point of control for energization and de-energization activities on site
• Oversee and enforce LOTO and PTW programs, ensuring compliance with site procedures and safety standards
• Review and approve energization plans, switching procedures, and isolation boundaries
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure safe execution of work on or near energized systems
• Maintain control logs, permits, and documentation related to energy isolation and system energization
• Participate in pre-task planning, risk assessments, and daily coordination meetings
• Provide oversight during critical energization phases, with authority to approve, delay, or stop work as needed
• Support development and continuous improvement of site-specific energy control procedures and best practices
Job Requirements:
• Strong working knowledge of LOTO, PTW, and hazardous energy control processes
• Experience supporting construction, commissioning, or startup activities on industrial or data center projects
• Ability to interpret electrical one-lines, P&IDs, and system boundaries
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines
• Proven ability to work in high-risk environments with a strong safety-first mindset
• Experience maintaining documentation, logs, and compliance records related to energy control
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure, including stopping work when necessary
Education / Experience:
• 7+ years of experience in LOTO, commissioning, operations, or construction safety roles
• Experience on large-scale industrial, power generation, or data center projects preferred
• Background in electrical, mechanical, or process systems strongly preferred
• OSHA 10 or 30 required (or equivalent safety certification)
• Additional certifications related to electrical safety, NFPA 70E, or switching operations are a plus
