Traveling Heavy Equipment Operator / Laborer
Job Description
• Operated heavy equipment including skid steers and track dump trucks on active job sites
• Worked with track hoes (excavators such as 330 models) as needed; experience considered a strong plus
• Performed dirt and earthwork with 2+ years of hands on operating experience
• Operated around active utility lines safely and with situational awareness
• Completed physical labor tasks in addition to equipment operation as a working operator
• Assisted crews with ground work, material handling, and job site tasks
• Maintained equipment through inspections, cleaning, and basic service
• Followed safety procedures and adhered to company and site specific requirements
• Supported excavation work including grading, trenching, and material movement
• Communicated with supervisors to ensure tasks were completed efficiently and safely
- Pay will be $30 - $35/hr
- Per diem of $46 (Lodging and Travel covered by company)
- They will be in a crew of a Superintendent, an Operator/Foreman, and 2-4 more Laborers
Ability to travel is an absolute must - the candidate will be gone for weeks/months at a time. They work long hours during the week and can expect to work at least 60 hours, up to 80. The only day they have off is Sunday, but some weeks may require seven working days. The laborer will be bunked up in a hotel room with another laborer. As far as travel goes, they will either ride with an employee to the jobsite or will fly the individual to the respective city and have them meet at the hotel/airport. They will work in the elements - rain or shine, heat or cold. Must be receptive to extreme temperatures.

- They have completed projects in 43/50 states. This will be outdoor and the laborers must be able to work in the elements.
