Job Overview
Job Title: Mechanical Field Engineer

Project Type: Industrial Construction / Large-Scale Simple Cycle Power Plants

Duration: 12-18 months

Schedule: 5 x 8's, will go to 5 x 10's

💰 Compensation & Logistics
Mobilization: Standard
Per diem: $135.00/day x 7 days

🛠️ Technical Execution & Responsibilities
Engineering Oversight: Review design drawings/specifications and conduct daily field inspections to ensure construction and start-up activities match engineering mandates.

Design & Issue Resolution: Interpret plans and specifications to mitigate construction delays; collaborate with home office engineering, OEMs, and vendors to expedite Request for Information (RFI) answers.

Documentation & Redlines: Manage the documentation and distribution of all design changes (redlines) and field modifications; work with subcontractors to assemble start-up work packages.

Project Reporting: Prepare daily construction logs and miscellaneous reports for project management to support submittals, layouts, and schedules.

Technical Problem Solving: Apply advanced engineering techniques and industrial construction standards to resolve complex mechanical installation issues.

🛡️ Safety, Quality & Documentation
Compliance: Guarantee all construction and field modifications strictly comply with design engineering requirements to safely deliver power assets.

Site Safety: Adhere to safety regulations, procedures, and site-specific protocols while wearing mandatory PPE.

Physical Demands: Ability to work indoors/outdoors in noisy, hot, cold, or dirty environments; requires physical activity including climbing ladders, working at elevations, and lifting 50 pounds.

📋 Requirements
Experience: 10+ years of related experience with mechanical installations on industrial projects, with a strong preference for large-scale power plants and GE turbine technology.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a demonstrated combination of equivalent education, training, and field experience.

Technical Skills: Deep expertise in interpreting complex design drawings, managing structural/mechanical submittals, and executing alignment modifications under limited direction.

Certifications: Valid jurisdictional driver license; must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
