Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Industrial Hygienist opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.

Position Overview:

The Industrial Hygienist provides technical expertise and field support to ensure a safe, compliant, and health‑protective work environment across an industrial manufacturing facility. This role conducts exposure assessments, develops and implements industrial hygiene programs, and partners with operations, engineering, and ES&H leadership to control chemical, physical, radiological, and ergonomic hazards. The position requires strong analytical skills, deep regulatory knowledge, and the ability to work in a highly regulated, mission‑critical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform qualitative and quantitative exposure evaluations for chemical, physical, and biological hazards in accordance with DOE, OSHA, and ACGIH requirements.

· Conduct air, noise, heat stress, and surface sampling; interpret results; and recommend corrective actions.

· Maintain and improve IH programs including respiratory protection, hazard communication, hearing conservation, ergonomics, and confined space.

· Ensure adherence to site-specific orders and ES&H directives.

· Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to workers, supervisors, and senior leadership.

· Provide IH expertise during investigations, abnormal events, and emergency response activities.

· Maintain accurate exposure records, sampling data, and regulatory documentation.

· Conduct routine walkdowns of production, maintenance, and laboratory areas to identify emerging hazards.

· Review subcontractor IH plans and ensure alignment with DOE and site requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of industrial hygiene experience, preferably in a manufacturing, chemical, nuclear, or DOE environment.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, ACGIH TLVs, NIOSH, and DOE Orders.
Demonstrated experience conducting exposure assessments and implementing hazard controls.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance (if required by site).
Proficiency with IH sampling equipment and data analysis tools.
Excellent communication, technical writing, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Master’s degree in related field.
