Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Training Developer opportunity in Johnson City, TN.

Job Description:

The Training Developer is responsible for analyzing training needs, designing instructional solutions, developing learning content, and supporting workforce development initiatives across the organization. This position partners with operations, maintenance, safety, quality, engineering, and leadership teams to create effective training programs that improve employee performance, support compliance requirements, and enhance operational excellence. The Training Developer applies instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies to develop classroom, e-learning, blended learning, and hands-on training solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze organizational, operational, and technical training needs through collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Design, develop, and maintain training curricula, learning paths, instructional materials, participant guides, assessments, and job aids.
Create engaging instructor-led, virtual, and e-learning training programs using adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Develop technical, operational, safety, compliance, and skills-based training content.
Conduct job task analyses and competency assessments to identify training requirements and performance gaps.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to capture and translate technical information into effective learning solutions.
Design and implement employee onboarding, qualification, certification, and workforce development programs.
Develop evaluation tools and metrics to measure training effectiveness and learner performance.
Maintain and update training documentation, records, and learning management system (LMS) content.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance training processes and learning outcomes.
Ensure training materials comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Support audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives related to workforce training programs.
Facilitate training sessions and workshops as needed to support organizational requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business, Industrial Technology, Technical Training, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
Minimum of 10 years of experience, including 3 years of experience supporting the development of training programs, instructional materials, or workforce development initiatives.
Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, production, processing, logistics, energy, chemical, automotive, aerospace, food manufacturing, or other technical operations environments.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety programs, and compliance training requirements.
Experience applying instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, or similar frameworks.
Strong technical writing, curriculum development, and content creation skills.
Experience creating training assessments, evaluations, and competency-based learning materials.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and learning management systems.
Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

Experience developing technical training for operators, technicians, maintenance personnel, skilled trades employees, or frontline production teams.
Experience with e-learning development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with competency-based training, qualification programs, and workforce certification processes.
Experience supporting Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration and reporting.
