Talascend is currently seeking a Conveyor Installation Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in West Jefferson, Ohio.
MUST HAVE CONVEYOR INSTALLATION EXPERIENCE!
OSHA 10 OR 30 REQUIRED (MUST HAVE CERT)
FORKLIFT CERTIFICATION PREFERRED
$28HR- PLUS $110 a day per diem if qualify
Overview
In this contract role, you will support conveyor and/or sortation installation activities on-site, including mechanical assembly, belt installation, and layout work. You will also be expected to maintain safety standards, use required tools and PPE, and communicate clearly with site leads and project teams.
Responsibilities
Provide proof of OHSA 10 and/or OHSA 30 construction certification.
Use required hand tools and PPE throughout the duration of the project work.
Perform hands-on installation tasks, including installing conveyor accurately from prints.
Assist with layout, rigging, assembly of conveyor beds, and belt installation as needed.
Use forklift experience to support installation activities as required.
Assist with mechanical adjustments to conveyor that may have been delivered to site with defects or components installed incorrectly at site due to miscommunications or incorrect instructions.
Lift up to 30+ lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights up to 40 ft.
Stand or walk on concrete or steel grating for an entire shift.
Demonstrate detail-oriented work and accept guidance for daily activities from site leads.
Communicate relevant information clearly and in a timely manner with site leads, project team members, installation subcontractors, and customer representatives when applicable.
Notify site lead of issues with completing assigned activities and behave responsibly while performing requested tasks.
Work reliable 58+ hour work weeks as needed.
Perform housekeeping and general clean-up duties.
Work constructively with the site installation team to improve safety or quality of activities.
Adhere to all safety standards and ensure a safe work area.
Report unsafe site conditions and participate in safety training, including weekly safety meetings.
Be competent and certified to operate powered lift equipment, including scissor lift or forklift.
Conduct interactions on site in a professional and courteous manner to support a positive work culture.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years experience with conveyor and/or sortation installations.
Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
Must have OHSA 10 and/or OHSA 30 in construction; provide proof of certification.
Forklift experience required.
Ability to install conveyor accurately from the prints.
Mechanically inclined.
Ability to lift up to 30+ lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights up to 40 ft.
Able to traverse project construction sites, including stairs and ladders, to perform and inspect work activities.
Ability to carry materials (35#) and use hand tools to loosen and tighten conveyor hardware.
Understanding and enforcement of safe practices for proper use of tools commonly used, such as power tools, cranes, hoists and slings, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
Good communication skills and a good attitude.
Reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
Current forklift safety training certification preferred; provide proof of certification if applicable.
Ability to teach local new hires.
