Responsibilities:
The primary duty of a general laborer/installation helper is to focus on assisting Millwrights (Lead Technicians) to ensure seamless operation of Baggage Handling Systems. Their responsibilities can vary significantly not only from one position to another but also from day to day in the same role. On any given day, they may undertake a range of tasks, including:
Assist lead technician with the assembly and alignment of conveyor components like motors, pulleys, bearings, belts, chains, and gears.
Following Instruction: Adhere to blueprints, specifications, and manufacturer instructions during installation and repair.
Assist with the preparation, handling, and use of tools and materials needed for conveyor installations and repairs.
Help test installed systems to ensure they meet performance requirements and safety regulations and assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.
Help document installation and repair activities, including parts used, labor hours, and job completion time.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on conveyor systems.
Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure successful project completion.
Any other duties as assigned or needed
QUALIFICATIONS
18 years of age or older
Eligible to work in the United States
High School Diploma/GED required
Valid driver’s license required (with clean driving record)
Aviation Industry experience a plus
High attention to being organized with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents
Pass a background check and drug screen
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation
Must possess the versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities
Must be able to report to work on a regular, consistent, and timely basis; must be prompt and maintain good attendance
Must possess the ability to be a self-starter, work independently and as a member of various teams
May be assigned other duties as required

Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
Working Conditions
Warehouse environment. Possible exposure to dust, heat, or cold, and other seasonal changes
CRAS adheres to a strict Substance abuse policy. Employment within CRAS is contingent upon successful completion of Pre-Employment 10-year background screening as well as a 10-Panel non DOT drug screening.
