Teamster
US Citizenship or Certification Required
DUTIES
Teamsters must be qualified and hired from the local Union hall and hold journeyman
qualifications. Teamsters are responsible for hauling persons and materials. Teamsters are required to
hold licenses that match the vehicles they drive. Duties of a teamster include:
• Operating and driving straight or articulated trucks and lighter, special-purpose trucks;
• Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules;
• Performing preventive maintenance, trip inspections and emergency roadside repairs;
• Recording cargo information, service hours, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
Citizenship:
A. Birth Certificate or certified copy of Birth Certificate issued by a U.S. State or by the U.S. Department of State (Form FS-240);
B. U.S. Passport, issued by the U.S. Department of State;
C. Certificate of U.S. Citizenship issued to a person born outside the United States who derived or acquired U.S. citizenship through a U.S. citizen parent (INS Form N-560 or N-561); or
D. Certificate of Naturalization issued to a person who became a U.S. citizen after 18 years of age through the naturalization process (INS Form N-550 or N-570).
Work Hours:
Work week will be sixty (60) hours per week. Working hours will be defined by the Company.
