E & I Journeymen & Apprentices
- Pay: DOE from apprentice level to technician: $30-$50/hr
- PD: $125/Day - paid 7 days
- Duration of project - 1 year
- Columbus, OH
OVERVIEW:
The Journeyman Electrician is a qualified craft professional responsible for performing electrical & instrumentation installations, work safely, correctly, & efficiently in accordance with drawings, specifications, codes, & Company standards. Journeymen are expected to work independently, mentor apprentices, & produce code-compliant, inspection-ready work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all Company & client safety rules, participate in JSAs, permits, & LOTO briefings, and wear required PPE at all times & follow all safety procedures.
- Install conduit (rigid, EMT, IMC, PVC) & supports.
- Pull, terminate, & label power & control wiring.
- Install panels, MCCs, VFDs, junction boxes, & trays.
- Perform grounding & bonding per code.
- Read & work from electrical drawings & schematics.
- Install instrument tubing & wiring
- Mount instruments, transmitters, & analyzers
- Assist with calibration, loop checks, & testing
- Support commissioning activities under supervision
- Verify work meets NEC, client specs, & Mach standards
- Self-check work before inspection
- Correct deficiencies immediately
- Maintain neat, organized work areas
- Follow daily work plans & foreman direction
- Mentor apprentices & helpers
- Set example for safety & quality
- Communicate respectfully with crew members
- Represent the Company professionally at all times
- Accurately report time & work completed
- Identify discrepancies in drawings or scope
- Communicate issues to Foreman or Superintendent promptly
