Plumbing Service Technician | Indianapolis, IN | $35 - $45 / hour
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Repair:
Install and repair water, gas, air, and drain piping systems.
Install and repair water heaters, domestic hot water boilers, circulating pumps, backflow preventers, and thermostatic mixing valves.
Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of cast iron, steel, brass, PVC, and copper.
Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints.
Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and hot water storage tanks.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform drain cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues efficiently and effectively.
Maintain good customer relations by communicating clearly, leaving work areas clean and orderly, and addressing customer concerns promptly.
Safety & Compliance:
Observe job sites and report and correct any unsafe working conditions.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
Qualifications:
Valid state driver's license and ability to pass an MVR check
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Ability to climb ladders and work from heights more than 4 feet
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret various instructions
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Effective communication skills via telephone to customers and dispatch
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Journeymans or Master license required; experienced 3rd year apprentices considered
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to adjust focus for close-up work, with or without correction
Ability to pass a physical ability test
