Job Description
This role oversees day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects, ensuring all work aligns with project plans, specifications, and schedules. The foreman uses construction management software to manage documentation and communication, leads safety initiatives on site, and coordinates closely with project managers, subcontractors, and institutional stakeholders to deliver high-quality work safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
* Direct daily field operations to ensure all activities comply with project plans, specifications, and construction schedules.
* Use construction management software such as Procore and Bluebeam for daily reporting, RFI tracking, documentation, and scheduling.
* Lead regular on-site safety meetings and enforce strict compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
* Coordinate and communicate daily with project managers, subcontractors, trades, and university or institutional stakeholders to align work and resolve issues.
* Manage material deliveries, including scheduling, tracking, and verifying materials against project requirements.
* Oversee quality control on site, ensuring work meets design specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
* Identify and resolve on-site problems promptly, including constructability issues, sequencing conflicts, and field changes.
* Interpret and work from blueprints and digital plans to guide crews and verify proper installation.
* Ensure proper use of hand tools, equipment, and materials, promoting safe and efficient work practices.
* Monitor progress in the field and provide timely updates and reports to project leadership.
* Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork on the jobsite.
Essential Skills
* Minimum 13 years of experience in a commercial construction foreman or superintendent role.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and digital construction documents.
* Strong digital literacy, including proficiency with construction management software such as Procore and Bluebeam.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation, reporting, and communication.
* Strong understanding of construction safety practices and OSHA requirements.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with trades and institutional clients.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate field crews on active jobsites.
* OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience coordinating with university or institutional stakeholders on active campuses or occupied facilities.
* Comfort working with a wide range of trades, including carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC.
* Ability to troubleshoot field issues and propose practical, timely solutions.
* Strong organizational skills for managing RFIs, schedules, and daily reports within digital platforms.
* Proficiency using hand tools and familiarity with safe operation of common construction equipment.
* Attention to detail in quality control and adherence to project specifications.

Work Environment
This position is entirely field-based and takes place on active commercial construction sites. Work hours follow standard construction schedules, with the need to be present on site to oversee daily operations and ensure safe, efficient progress.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
