Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Technician for immediate hire in Brookshire, TX.
WEEKLY PAY --- OVERTIME --- PER DIEM
PAY: $45-55+/hr. (based upon experience & certifications)
PER DIEM: $90/day worked
HOURS: Expected shifts will be 10 hour days
SCHEDULE: Expected work will be Monday-Saturday; approximately 50-60 hours/week
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 6+ months
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have experience commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and verifying the performance of electrical power distribution systems and equipment on commercial or industrial construction projects.
This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with project managers, engineers, electricians, and clients to ensure all electrical systems are installed, tested, and operating according to design specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
--Perform commissioning, startup, testing, and verification of electrical systems.
--Inspect electrical installations for compliance with project specifications, NEC requirements, and manufacturer recommendations.
--Test low- and medium-voltage electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), panelboards, breakers, and generators.
--Verify proper operation of protective relays, control systems, and electrical distribution equipment.
--Conduct functional performance testing of electrical systems and document results.
--Troubleshoot electrical system issues and assist in identifying corrective actions.
--Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, and commissioning plans.
--Coordinate commissioning activities with project managers, contractors, engineers, and facility personnel.
--Prepare commissioning reports, test documentation, punch lists, and final turnover packages.
--Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.
--Assist with system startup and owner training when required.
Qualifications:
--3+ years of electrical commissioning, testing, or commercial/industrial electrical experience preferred.
--OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.
--Strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
--Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
--Experience with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers (Meggers), power quality analyzers, or relay testing equipment.
--Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical safety practices.
--Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
--Strong written and verbal communication skills.
--Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
