Job Description
* This role is ideal for an experienced journeyman glazier with 35 years of hands-on commercial glazing experience. You will install, replace, and fabricate a wide range of glass and glazing systems, including curtain walls, storefronts, wind screens, showers, mirrors, and heavy glass partitions, while working on commercial construction projects across San Diego County.
Responsibilities
* Install and replace glass and glazing systems in commercial settings, including curtain walls, storefronts, wind screens, showers, mirrors, and heavy glass partitions.
* Perform door, frame, and hardware installations with a high level of accuracy and finish quality.
* Install Herculite entrances and other specialized glass entry systems according to project specifications.
* Carry out punched opening installations and ensure proper fit, sealing, and alignment.
* Fabricate glazing components as needed, including cutting, shaping, and preparing glass and framing materials.
* Apply sealing and caulking to all relevant joints and seams to ensure weather-tight and aesthetically pleasing installations.
* Perform general glazing work such as setting glass, securing framing, and completing finishing tasks on commercial projects.
* Operate boom lifts, aerial lifts, and forklifts safely to move materials and access elevated work areas.
* Lift and handle glass and related materials, meeting physical lift requirements of up to 50 pounds as part of daily work.
* Work on swing stage platforms when required to complete glazing tasks on multi-story or elevated facades.
* Collaborate with field teams and other trades on commercial construction projects to meet schedules and quality standards.
* Follow all site safety procedures and best practices while working on commercial-level construction projects.
Essential Skills
* 35 years of journeyman-level glazing experience in commercial construction environments.
* Proven experience installing and replacing commercial glazing systems, including curtain walls, storefronts, wind screens, showers, mirrors, and heavy glass partitions.
* Hands-on experience with door, frame, and hardware installation in commercial projects.
* Ability to install Herculite entrances and other specialized glass entry systems.
* Strong skills in fabrication of glazing components, including working with glass and metal framing.
* Proficiency in glazing techniques, including setting glass, securing framing, and completing finishing work.
* Demonstrated ability in sealing and caulking to achieve weather-tight and visually clean installations.
* Experience working with punched openings in commercial building envelopes.
* Capability to operate boom lifts, aerial lifts, and forklifts as part of field installation work.
* Ability to perform swing stage work safely and effectively when required.
* Physical ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 pounds regularly.
* Experience working on commercial-level construction projects in the field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Forklift and aerial lift certifications are highly desirable.
* OSHA safety certifications are a strong plus.
* Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship in all glazing and installation tasks.
* Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow established safety protocols on construction sites.
* Ability to work collaboratively with field crews and other trades on busy commercial projects.

Work Environment
* This position is based in the field on commercial-level construction projects across San Diego County, primarily during first shift hours. You will work on active construction sites, both indoors and outdoors, using tools and equipment such as boom lifts, aerial lifts, forklifts, and swing stage platforms. The role involves regular physical activity, including lifting materials up to 50 pounds and working at heights when required. Work attire should be appropriate for construction environments, including sturdy work clothing and safety gear consistent with site requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oceanside, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
