CERTIFIED WELDING INSPECTOR (CWI) – IMMEDIATE OUTAGE OPENING – WILSONVILLE, AL

SEI – Southeast Inspections, LLC is currently seeking an experienced AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for an immediate opening on an outage in Wilsonville, Alabama.

This position is available immediately and is expected to last approximately 90 days. Candidates should be prepared to work an outage schedule consisting of 7 days per week, 12-hour shifts.

Pay: $50.00 per hour
Overtime: Time and a half after 40 hours
Per Diem: $125 per day

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The CWI will be responsible for providing quality control inspection support throughout the outage and working closely with project supervision, contractors, welders, fitters, and other project personnel.

Responsibilities may include:

• Perform visual inspection of welding activities and completed welds

• Verify welding is performed in accordance with applicable procedures, drawings, specifications, and project requirements

• Review and verify welder qualifications and applicable welding documentation

• Verify proper use of approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)

• Monitor fit-up, joint preparation, welding practices, and final weld appearance

• Document inspection activities and maintain accurate QC records

• Identify and document nonconforming work when required

• Coordinate with project supervision regarding quality-related issues

• Maintain organized and accurate inspection documentation

• Provide daily inspection reports and other required project documentation

• Work professionally with craft personnel and project management throughout the outage

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification

• Previous industrial construction, power generation, boiler, piping, or outage inspection experience preferred

• Strong understanding of welding inspection practices and documentation

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, welding procedures, and project specifications

• Good communication and documentation skills

• Must be dependable and able to work the required outage schedule

• Must be available to mobilize and begin work immediately

BACKGROUND CHECK & DRUG SCREEN

A CLEAN BACKGROUND CHECK AND PASSING DRUG SCREEN ARE MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION.

All candidates selected for this project must successfully complete the required background screening and drug testing prior to beginning work.
