Pen Bay HVAC LLC is seeking an experienced Master HVAC / Master Plumber Supervisor possessing Master Plumbing, Master Oil Burners, and EPA 608 licensing to provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise across our residential property portfolio.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced trades professional who enjoys solving complex problems, leading projects, and developing other technicians. In this role, youll combine your HVAC, plumbing, boiler, and building systems expertise with supervisory responsibilities, helping ensure our properties remain safe, efficient, and well maintained.

What Youll Do
Supervise, manage, and participate in HVAC and plumbing maintenance projects.
Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, boiler, mechanical, and related building-system issues.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and hands-on training to maintenance technicians, apprentices, and journeymen.
Establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for building systems and equipment.
Coordinate corrective and emergency maintenance and ensure equipment failures are addressed promptly.
Manage maintenance projects, including estimates, materials, scheduling, and contractor oversight when necessary.
Collaborate with Regional Managers and maintenance leadership to identify building needs and recommend effective solutions.
Conduct routine property inspections and recommend corrective action for identified maintenance concerns.
Ensure plumbing and HVAC work complies with applicable codes, regulations, safety requirements, specifications, and permitting requirements.
Purchase approved parts, supplies, equipment, and services in accordance with company procedures.
Interview, recommend, onboard, and train new HVAC and maintenance team members.
Identify employee training needs and support the ongoing development of maintenance staff.
Train employees on the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain required Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation.
Assist with annual budget preparation related to building safety, maintenance, grounds, and equipment.
Maintain working knowledge of property systems, equipment locations, water and gas shutoffs, sewer cleanouts, and other critical building infrastructure.
Coordinate effectively with vendors, contractors, consultants, property management staff, and company leadership.
Participate in on-call coverage as needed.
Maintain resident confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
The position is also responsible for supervising HVAC/plumbing apprentices and/or journeymen and providing technical training to maintenance staff.
What Were Looking For
EPA 608 Certification required.
Master Plumber License required.
Master Oil burner License required.
Five to ten years of experience in specialized maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, or related skilled trades.
In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, boilers, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
Knowledge of applicable state and local building codes, permitting requirements, specifications, and regulations.
Knowledge of EPA and OSHA requirements related to building maintenance.
Experience estimating maintenance and repair costs is a plus.
Previous supervisory, mentoring, or training experience.
Ability to effectively coordinate the work of technicians, vendors, and contractors.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Excellent time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Ability to exercise sound judgment when responding to preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance needs.
The attached description requires both HVAC certification and a Master Plumber License, along with five to ten years of specialized maintenance experience.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, kneel, reach, squat, and climb.
Ability to safely work from ladders.
Ability to perform hands-on maintenance work in a variety of building and property environments.
