Job Title: Industrial Millwright
Location: Muscatine, IA
Job Type: Full-time/ short-term
Shift: 1st shift
Salary Range: $30.00 an hour and $100 per diem if you are traveling over 50 miles for days worked.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-minded Industrial Millwright to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, assembling, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate possesses a strong command of mechanical systems, high precision alignment capabilities, and the ability to handle both emergency repairs and modern predictive maintenance tasks.
Will be making tank repairs and modifications.
Core Responsibilities
• Installation & Assembly: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer manuals to construct, position, and anchor heavy industrial equipment.
• Precision Alignment: Use laser alignment tools, dial indicators, and micrometers to align gears, shafts, motors, and couplings to precise tolerances.
• Preventative & Predictive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, vibration analysis, and lubrication schedules; utilize digital diagnostic tools to proactively identify machine wear.
• Rigging & Moving: Safely operate cranes, hoists, forklifts, and rigging hardware to move, hoist, or dismantle heavy machinery components.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Rapidly diagnosed mechanical failures in hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems, replacing or repairing parts like bearings, pumps, and seals.
• Fabrication & Welding: Perform structural welding (MIG/TIG/Stick) and light machining to modify or create replacement parts as required.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA standards, plant safety guidelines, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols at all times.
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an industrial millwright, mechanic, or successful completion of a registered Millwright Apprenticeship program.
• Technical Certifications: Journeyman Millwright card or AWS Welding Certification is highly preferred.
• Core Skills: Strong proficiency in industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor tracking, and precision mechanical assembly.
• Tools: Proficient with laser alignment systems, torque wrenches, precision measurement tools, and handheld diagnostic computers.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights or in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
