Traveling Field Service Mechanic
Pay: $30–$36 per hour, based on experience
Per Diem: $150 per day for qualifying travelers
Project Length: Up to two years
Travel: Regional travel required
TalentLogistiX is seeking experienced Traveling Field Service Mechanics for a long-term postal-fleet warranty and repair project. Mechanics will work in two-person teams, traveling throughout an assigned region to diagnose and repair fleet vehicles at postal facilities and regional service centers.

- Atlanta, GA
- Minneapolis–St. Paul, MN
- Manchester, NH/Portland, ME
- Syracuse/Upstate New York
- Denver, CO
Field Service Mechanic Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical vehicle issues
- Perform warranty, service, and Technical Service Bulletin repairs
- Complete scheduled and unscheduled fleet repairs
- Address all documented concerns before releasing each vehicle
- Accurately document repairs and completed work
- Travel throughout the assigned region as directed
- Follow all safety, quality, and customer-service procedures
- Maintain and provide the tools needed to complete repairs
Qualifications
- Professional automotive, diesel, fleet, or field-service mechanic experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
- Warranty or Technical Service Bulletin experience is a plus
- Must provide personal tools
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Willingness to travel regularly and work within a two-person team
- Ability to work independently and complete repairs accurately
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Training and Support
Mechanics will receive process-specific training and ongoing support from the customer’s internal technicians and engineering team.
Compensation and Travel
- $30–$36 per hour, based on experience
- $150 per day in per diem for qualifying travelers
- Customer-coordinated daily transportation to and from assigned service locations
- Long-term opportunity anticipated to last up to two years
- Deployment expected approximately 3–6 weeks after final project approval
