NOW HIRING: CONCRETE FINISHERS — FREMONT, CA

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking experienced Concrete Finishers for a construction project in Fremont, California.

Pay: $32–$38 per hour, based on experience
Safety Requirement: Must possess OSHA 10 certification or be willing to obtain it.

Job Responsibilities

- Prepare work areas, subgrades, and concrete bases to support proper placement and finishing.
- Set, align, brace, and remove concrete forms according to project specifications.
- Verify elevations, grades, slopes, and layout to ensure correct surface levels and drainage.
- Assist with placing and spreading concrete for slabs, floors, sidewalks, curbs, ramps, and other concrete structures.
- Screed concrete to the required grade and thickness using hand or powered equipment.
- Float and trowel concrete using bull floats, hand floats, hand trowels, and power trowels.
- Produce specified finishes, including smooth, broom, and textured surfaces.
- Finish edges, corners, curbs, and areas around penetrations, embeds, and other obstructions.
- Monitor concrete setting conditions and adjust finishing techniques for temperature, moisture, and weather.
- Install or form control and expansion joints; perform saw cutting as required.
- Apply curing compounds or protective coverings to support proper curing.
- Patch, grind, resurface, and repair concrete imperfections, honeycombing, and uneven areas.
- Read blueprints and follow layout markings, specifications, and supervisor instructions.
- Operate and maintain concrete finishing tools and equipment safely.
- Coordinate with the concrete placement crew to maintain consistent quality and production.
- Inspect completed work for proper finish, grade, thickness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Clean tools and equipment, remove debris, and maintain an organized work area.
- Follow site safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

- Previous hands-on concrete finishing experience, preferably on commercial construction projects.
- Ability to screed, float, edge, and trowel concrete with minimal supervision.
- Experience using power trowels and other concrete finishing equipment.
- Working knowledge of concrete placement, finishing timing, curing, and joint installation.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Dependable attendance, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively with a crew.
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain it.
