[Construction Manager] PV Solar Construction Manager - Minnesota

Seeking experienced Construction Manager of ground mount utility scale PV Solar projects. Client is an EPC with 20+ projects to be developed in the Minneapolis area. MUST BE A LOCAL MINNESOTA HIRE.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in the project through all phases of the project cycle including estimating, design, development, construction, construction billing, and final acceptance. Monitors civil and electrical subcontractors to assure completion of installation and testing is accurate, complete, and meets schedule and cost parameters.
• Assures compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA standards.
• May direct multiple projects simultaneously.
• Maintains budget and assures cost is kept within budget.
• Responsible for weekly reporting, monthly projection, and scheduling updates.
• Assures daily quantities are collected and entered into accounting software system.
• Prioritizes projects and tasks to achieve construction efficiency and company objectives.
• Assist in the development of and manages work instructions for construction tasks
• Ensures proper execution of field inspections and audits quality documentation and design specification compliance
• Communicates best practices to construction superintendents and field personnel
• Monitors project performance and identifies areas where new/improved planning can improve the quality of existing services as well as recommend means for improvement, including procedural steps, increased training, and enhanced documentation.
• References baseline schedule for the job to monitor and act upon schedule progression.
• Updates and maintains project schedule.
• Coordinates and delegates timely completion of traffic control plans, equipment mobilization, safety plans, purchase ordering, job costing, and other duties as required.
• Coordinates with the project superintendents with daily schedules including people, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
• Keeps track of all necessary licenses and permit requirements and ensure that all are met.
• Completes all necessary paperwork, change forms, and documents any delays and/or changes to scope of work in a timely manner.
• Maintains as-built drawings and turnover packages to include pre-functional testing, close-out documentation, and vendor package paperwork.
• Coordinates with inspection staff to ensure all testing, and turn-over packages are being completed.
• Manages the commissioning process as applicable.
• Participates in all meetings and other functions as a member of the project management team.
• Generates RFI’s, submittals, and transmittals as needed.
• Maintain working relationships with subcontractors, superintendents, and foremen including ability to motivate and maintain positive morale of the crews. Coordinates additional training when necessary.
• Interfaces with the project representatives on a weekly basis.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• High degree of professionalism and strong work ethic.
• Ability to think independently and be a problem solver.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with reading blue prints, plans, specs, contracts, purchase orders, etc.
• Knowledge of project management and job costing software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite-Excel/Word.
• Knowledge of municipality, state and/or federal laws and requirements.
• Coordinates with the Estimating Department for all pricing and change orders.
• Coordinates all material purchases directly or through the Logistics Department based on project organization.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.

Education & Experience:
• GED or High School diploma as a minimum.
• NABCEP certification preferred
• 3+ years of PV solar construction experience required
• Strong working knowledge of complex electrical systems and components and NEC code
• 7 years of construction experience or BS in a related field and 2 years of related experience.

Temp to Permanent employment opportunity. Hourly rate with 1.5 on overtime hours over (40) per week. Must pass Drug/Alcohol testing and Background Investigation prior to assignment. SEEKING LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY.
