HIRING Electrical Foreman for Texas Utility-Grade Solar Projects
A foreman is the manager of the workforce and is there to assist the site supervisor in the field with safe work practices and technical expertise. Foreman qualities should include the ability to evaluate, plan and execute construction plans, provide employees with proper training/ tools/ and equipment for different tasks, quality control, and can assess and communicate progress and potential issues in the field to the site supervisor. The Foreman must be able to motivate their crews and hold them accountable for any issues.
The Foreman is a working field position, leading crews of 10-20 employees (sometimes multiple crews depending on job size) towards a safe and successful build.
-Arriving ˝ hour before work begins to plan the work day to ensure that work areas are properly prepared to begin the workday
-Review drawings for technical specifications
-Maintain tool and equipment inventory
-Continuously work with crews to train and develop safe and efficient installation procedures
-A hands on approach to training
-Forecast production to ensure material and site conditions can support production plan and workflow will not be interrupted
-Foreman are responsible for accurate time keeping and production recording
-Work areas are kept clean
-Evaluate crew performance and manage personnel effectively
-Work cooperatively with all crews and site management as a Team
-File daily foreman reports and weekly task planners with Site Management
-Remain on-site for ˝ hour after work is completed to execute necessary tasks and prepare for the following day
-Flexibility to travel from project to project for extended duration's
-Minimum 2 years of solar construction experience
-Knowledge of the NEC code and standards
-Maintain a high level of leadership and respect amongst field employees
-Ability to read detailed civil, structural, and electrical drawings and perform product take-off and calculations.
-Ability to test for and maintain Journeyman and/or Master licenses in multiple states
-Possess necessary communication skills to professionally interface with subcontractors and clients
-Maintain a professional appearance at all times
-Overtime required based on project needs
-Osha 10 certification
-CPR and First Aid certifications
-Maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
