Contract / Temp to Direct / Direct Hire: Contract

Four year degree in mechanical, civil or construction
management is required.
Knowledge of: engineering principles for civil, mechanical, electrical and structural projects; Microsoft Office Suite, Primavera and Microsoft Project and be proficient in using these products. Skill in: developing, implementing and managing new construction and/or improvement projects that enhance the overall reliability, efficiency and safety of the facility. Must have good planning, organization and project-management skills; strong team-building and customer-relations skills; strong verbal and written communications skills including interpersonal, facilitation and presentation Ability to: manage multiple projects covering a large geographic area with multiple locations; proficiently understand and apply engineering principles for project completion; communicate effectively orally and in writing; contribute to a positive work environment; be courteous to co-workers and customers; follow directions from supervisors; and refrain from abusive or profane language and behavior in the workplace. Bachelor’s degree required, construction management, mechanical or civil engineering preferred. Minimum ten years’ experience in project engineering, construction project management and/or construction cost estimating.
Develop and manage mechanical, civil and electrical project budgets and schedules; review and provide input to project design from a construction perspective; estimate construction costs and schedule for pipeline and related facility installations; read and understand construction drawings; work with Engineering and Supply Chain to develop contract specifications, purchase orders, purchase requisitions, establish value contracts and contractor awards; schedule contractors to accomplish project work and maintain a program schedule for all employees managing project construction, contractors accomplishing the work, and operating groups involved in service outages; support day-to-day activities in the field as required; track contracts, submittals, change orders and overall construction costs; track historical construction cost data for use in future project estimating; perform quality control inspections and punch lists during construction as required; communicate effectively with clients, contractors and site personnel; ensure all projects are completed within the project schedule and approved budgets; regularly review and update applicable construction standard practices, specifications and procedures; work with minimal supervision; and perform other duties as requested or assigned.
