Project Engineer
Cottondale, FL
Contract Duration: Expected 6+ Months

Sirius Technical Services is seeking a Project Engineer for a global energy company specializing in delivering sustainable wood biomass solutions. This position will report to the Regional Projects Manager and will have responsibility for the engineering coordination associated to development, design, and construction of capital projects at a facility in Cottondale, FL.

Project Engineer Responsibilities:
• Aligning with our culture in operating safely and in a safe workplace, ensure that all work, in and out of projects, and both external and internal project resources are adhering to a safe work practices and supporting a safe workplace.
• Coordinate and lead engineering activities, both in-house and outsourced, during the development, design and construction phases of Capital Projects with strict adherence to the company's standards; ensuring a common understanding of scope, schedule, deliverables, etc.
• Support project development efforts by introducing and promoting innovation, cost saving ideas and value-added solutions to improve the company's operations, working with plant operations and respective support teams.
• Perform technical, cost savings and constructability reviews of design packages from internal engineering, out-sourced engineering and equipment suppliers.
o Prepare and submit detailed RFQ packages
o Analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to confirm proper scope has been included with special attention for exceptions, oversights and/or mistakes.
o Lead subcontractor site visits and bid reviews to resolve scope questions, inconsistencies and oversights.
o Provide cost estimates/recommendations to the development team.
• Coordinate and participate in Factory Acceptance testing as necessary.
• Responsible to maintain and update the company's drawings as well as necessary project specific drawings. Tracking design drawings to be issued for construction and final as-built drawings marked up during construction.
• Create and submit requests for purchase orders.
• Notify the Project Managers of any difficulties encountered in the engineering and design that may adversely impact safety, reliability, quality, cost, or schedule of the Capital project deliverables, and provide recommendations for solutions.
• Prepare, update and support the project engineering activities in the schedule with emphasis on; on-time delivery, quality of deliverables and Project costs.
• Maintain cadenced project team meetings with defined actions and owners.
• Prepare weekly and full completion project progress reports.
• Communicate and coordinate with internal company stakeholders and subcontractors to ensure a consistent understanding and execution of identified schedule objectives and work activities.
• Support development and maintenance of project risk register
• Comply with safety, good housekeeping, product quality and related regulatory requirements.

Project Engineer Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience
• Minimum of 5 years of dedicated project engineering experience
