[Foreman] Maintenance Foreman full time job in Virginia

PIC Group's client is seeking a Maintenance Foreman located in Virginia for a Biomass Facility! This is a Full time perm opportunity. 

Position Qualifications:

High School or vocational school diploma, plus seven years’ experience in a power plant Foreman role. Ability to read, write and comprehend technical information is essential.
• At least 4+ years’ experience supervising technical and administrative personnel in a power plant. Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills required.

• Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. "On call" status will be required.
• All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the plant.

Duties include:

Support the Maintenance Manager to meet the contractual, technical and commercial targets of the Plant.
• Direct all Maintenance Department personnel in the safe and efficient maintenance of the steam turbine, related auxiliaries, and balance of plant systems and equipment;
• Assist the Maintenance Manager in controlling plant maintenance costs, participate in the preparation of the maintenance budget.
• Prepare and maintain the Maintenance Department work schedule.
• The development of plans to perform maintenance outages and ensure plans meet the objectives for the equipment as it relates to prudent industry practices, budgets and schedules.
• Attend and contributes in maintenance meeting, outage planning and budgeting.
• Assist shift operations personnel in the troubleshooting of plant operational problems
• Coordination of starting, stopping, regulating, monitoring and controlling turbine generator and all auxiliary equipment with Operations Manager.
• Observes, records, and interprets indications from equipment readings. Calculates, evaluates, and report’s findings to the Maintenance Managers.
• Performs functional testing of plant systems and components. Interprets acceptability of data in comparison with established standards or sound power plant practices. Determines the need for and performs routine operational tests and adjustments on all power plant systems and components as required.
• Leads the investigation of plant problems, incidents, accidents, and unusual events, and provide analyses, recommendations, reports, and appropriate follow-up plans to Management.
• Checks daily consumption rates of gases and monitors consumable inventories. Initiates action to replenish same.
• Directs/performs routine preventive and predictive maintenance on all systems and equipment; supports corrective maintenance efforts on selected equipment when property trained or supervised.
• Perform on-the-job training to new employees.
• Uses computerized programs such as MP2, e-mail, and spread sheet applications on a daily basis.
• Maintains logs, records, and data sheets; prepares reports, trends, time sheets, material requisitions, work orders, and other administrative documents related to the business of power production. Writes, reviews, and revises maintenance and related procedures.
• Communicates with and represents the Company in its relations and communications with the vendors and contractors.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager with writing employee performance evaluations.
• Ensure that all plant reporting is performed according with established procedures.
• Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Monitors workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet maintenance schedules.
• Suggests and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of plant or work crew as well as to reduce costs.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Prepares or reviews purchase orders for parts, products, and services ensuring budgetary constraints are maintained.
• Prepares or reviews work orders for required preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Reads and understands technical manuals and system piping and instrumentation diagrams.
• Works with Maintenance Manager to ensure all preventative and corrective maintenance is completed in accordance with technical manual procedures and sound engineering practices.

• Must perform duties, and ensure all plant personnel are performing duties, in such a way to result in an optimum cost-benefit ratio.
• All employees have the responsibility to both the customer and their co-workers to perform the job efficiently the first time and to ensure the customer's needs are being met.
• Writes and provides scope-of-work to vendors and contractors for competitive bids.
