CLASS A - CDL DRIVER NEEDED: Hazardous Material certification not required but all others are needed.
This is to fulfill a temporary need (1-3 months) but may grow into a full time position.
Duties include but not limited to: Moving all company owned and rented vehicles between jobsites that are located in various locations throughout the United States. Primary vehicles include bucket and digger trucks used in electrical distribution and transmission work. Tractor Trailer, lowboy, box trailers and heavy off road equipment including large boom trucks etc.
Must have understanding of operating and loading large equipment such as bulldozers, backhoes, excavators and other items that require loading and securing to lowboy for over the road travel and returning rental equipment. This individual must be self-motivated, trustworthy and have a willingness to travel and work alone. Basic computer skills for paperwork and reports is also required.
Proven over the road experience driving Day Cab / Sleeper type tractor rigs pulling full size box trailers, lowboy trailers with equipment, such as bull dozers, skid steers, backhoes, etc. Additionally, extendable flat bed / float trailers with secured materials to and from project sites would also be required. In general, a driver with construction industry experience is preferred / required. Over the road rivers who spend 99% of their time on the nations interstates will have trouble doing what we need. Construction equipment to be moved is 90% of the job requirement.
Ability to drive / move crane trucks, digger trucks, bucket trucks, and other Class A CDL designated vehicles from one project to another.
Familiarity with operating equipment to assist in loading and securing the loads is a tremendous plus. These would include, telehandler forklifts, skid steers, backhoes, etc.
Additional duties to include ground assistance and support on project sites when driving duties are limited. Some limited lifting would be required but not extensive.
NOTE: Drivers may be living on the road for 4-5 weeks before going "home". There is no "home" base.
Typical Schedule: 21 Days on 7 Days off. - Scheduling is flexible and typical week would be approximately 60 Hours. Sunday work not required unless deadlines or deliveries dictate the extra hours. Rotation week is not paid but also not required. Schedule may need to be extended beyond 21 days in critical mobilization and demobilization stages of a project. Expenses include lodging and daily meal allowance. Vacation and Health Benefits also offered. A tow vehicle is also provided for use.
