WIND - Onshore - HSE Advisor

Our client is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support their project in MA

MAIN FUNCTIONS
• Assist the Onshore Work Packages to effectively implement Company, Contractor and Project HSE programs and initiatives. Monitor progress and advise on noncompliance issues that may impact project safety performance.
• Assist the Onshore Work Packages in maintaining compliance with Company, Contractor, and Local Authorities’ safety requirements, regulations, and expectations.
• Coach and advise Contractor and Subcontractors to effectively establish, communicate, and implement safety expectations and initiatives; monitor and stimulate the execution of safety policies, rules, and procedures; monitor conformance with project HSE plans and implement improvements where appropriate
• Collect and analyze data on safety initiatives and performance for reporting to Site Management
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Promote safety awareness and safe performance among project team members, including Company and Contractor personnel
• Conduct regular safety inspections/assessments at onshore sites in accordance with established project and site safety plans or as requested by site team members.
• Assist in the identification and elimination of unsafe acts and/or conditions, by monitoring site activities, stimulating and participating in hazard recognition programs and capturing lessons learned for review with Site Management
• Keep Site Management informed of significant and/or recurring safety issues, deficiencies and of approaches required for resolving outstanding issues
• Advise Site Management of safety initiatives, issues, challenges, and incident investigations/follow-up
• Participate in the investigation of and follow-up of incidents/accidents; Ensure the timely issuance of notification and reports to Site Management
• Coach and advise Contractors on incident investigation procedures, documentation, reporting, and follow-up, including root cause analysis and case management
• Influence Contractor Management to monitor work processes to ensure compliance with the site permit to work system and area/system responsibilities. Initiate systems when required.
• Provide a safety induction briefing to new team members and visitors
• Collect and share safety lessons learned with Site and functional Management
• Ensure accurate and prompt reporting of required documentation; incident, daily, weekly, monthly statistics, lessons learned, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• College level education or equivalent certifications
• 5+ years experience in onshore civil construction
• Additional experiences in offshore / onshore wind a plus
