[Safety Manager] Safety Manager (Solar Farm)

Safety Manager needed for Solar Farm project. High kV experience required. Commissioning experience required.

Duration: 1+ year
Weekly Pay
w2 hourly + ST OT (anticipated 55 hrs/week)
Per Diem: $840/week
Provided: Company Truck & Laptop
Mobilization/Demobilization: Yes, standard IRS rate
Expense: Mileage, cell, etc
Benefits: Yes (Medical, Dental Vision) + Holidays

Most Desirable Experience:
1) Safety auditing and documentation experience, OSHA recordable documentation, accident investigation reporting

2) Strong field construction experience, preferably in solar

3) Ability to lead and train all employees on site for safety, authority for all safety issues


Job Description

Responsibilities:

Conduct new employee project orientation and safety/environmental training with the company and subcontractor employees.

Attend subcontractor preconstruction meetings, review task specific Job Hazard Analyses and assist with planning for safety issues.

Implement, execute, and ensure compliance with the corporate Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

Lead safety/environmental incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and identification of corrective action plans. Interface with regulatory bodies (OSHA, EPA, and State/Local Regulators).

Inspect construction site to ensure compliance and promote prevention.

Review incident data and metrics to identify trends and recommend corrective action to address these areas.

Provide risk assessment of construction site to evaluate safety hazards and offer remedial action.

Evaluate contractor operational practices/equipment for safety compliance.

Assist with establishing and maintaining a project crisis management plan.

Conduct accident investigations and assists with OSHA and environmental inspections.

Ensure that required regulatory permits are acquired, that reports are submitted to regulatory agencies, and any site permit conditions (e.g. sampling, record-keeping) are met.

Perform all duties in accordance with Environmental, Health and Safety Guidelines.

Performs related duties as requested.

Required Skills and Competencies

Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.

8-10 years of progressive experience as an Environmental Health and System Professional.

Strong overall knowledge of applicable environmental statutes and safety regulations.

Operational knowledge of general industry and construction activities.

High Voltage safety experience required.
