Company Profile:
Rapidly growing Owner Operator is actively recruiting an Owners Rep � Substation Specialist - to join the team. This is an immediate opening working onsite an 80MW wind site for one of the largest owner operators in the US. This Owners Rep will work at least 50 hours a week and many weeks will be 55-72 hours per week through July 2026 with a qualified candidate put on a new site once this one finishes.

Compensation: $50-$75/hr + Approximately $175/day per diem + vehicle reimbursement

Scope of Responsibilities:
The Owners Rep � Substation Specialist will play a crucial role starting with technical oversight, quality assurance, and coordination with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure the substation is built to code safely within budget. Additional Responsibilities include:
1. Pre-Construction / Design Review
� Review design drawings and specs for the substation (including switchgear, transformers, protection systems).
� Verify compliance with utility standards (e.g., IEEE, NESC, NEC).
� Participate in constructability reviews.
� Coordinate with civil and electrical engineers on site layout, grounding design, and clearance requirements.
� Ensure procurement aligns with specs (e.g., transformer rating, breaker specs, SCADA compatibility).
2. Site Preparation / Civil Construction
� Oversee:
o Grading and foundation work for substation pad, equipment, and control building.
o Trenching and conduit installation.
o Grounding system installation and testing.
� Monitor contractor QA/QC documentation.
� Coordinate equipment delivery timelines (transformers, switchgear, control panels).
3. Electrical Equipment Installation
� Supervise or inspect:
o Power transformer setting and oil filling.
o CT/VT placement and wiring.
o Breakers, disconnects, and bus installation.
o Cable pulling and terminations.
o Control building setup (relays, batteries, HVAC, SCADA, telecom).
4. Testing and Commissioning
� Lead or support:
o Relay protection and control scheme testing.
o Point-to-point wiring checks.
o Functional testing of breakers, switches, and alarms.
o SCADA integration and telemetry testing.
o Ground resistance testing.
o Energization procedures (cold and hot commissioning).
5. Handoff & Closeout
� Ensure full as-built documentation is completed.
� Turn over test reports and commissioning logs.
� Support utility interconnection and witness testing.
� Verify all punch list items are resolved.

Qualifications:
� 5+ years with substation construction from new construction through commissioning
o Wind or renewable experience is a plus.
� Expert with high-voltage (HV) systems, relay setting, and test equipment
� Proficient with NERC/PRC compliance
� Interested in working at least 50 hours per week with most weeks closer to 55-72 hours per week through July of 2026
