Lab Technician
Rate: up to $37/hr ST
Work location: Baytown, Texas

Description:
Seeking a technical specialist Lab Tech to work in a power plant that uses a combined cycle system. Primarily responsible for conducting laboratory tests and analyses on various fluids, gases, and components within the plant to ensure optimal performance, monitor environmental compliance, and troubleshoot potential issues related to the generation of electricity.
Collect and log environmental samples (water, soil, air, wastewater, etc.) from field locations in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Prepare samples for analysis, including filtering, preserving, and labeling.
Perform laboratory testing using techniques such as pH measurement, titration, spectrophotometry, gas chromatography, or atomic absorption spectroscopy.
Record and interpret data accurately and maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and chain-of-custody documentation.
Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
Ensure lab procedures comply with environmental regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc.) and internal quality control standards.
Assist with preparing reports and communicating findings to project managers or regulatory bodies.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
Prior Combined Cycle Power Plant experience is a plus
