Position: Substation Commissioning Manager, 19573
Location: starting in Missouri or North Dakota and moving across other projects in the US.
Pay Rate, $100, 1.5 OT
Per Diem, GSA
Contract Duration. 5/1/2027
Preferred Background:
Self starter with a high drive for quality, execution, and safety
5 years experience in on-site project support for renewable power generation project construction start up and commissioning
3 years experience minimum working for an EPC in renewable power generation project construction start up and commissioning
Proven track record and ability to interact with engineering personnel on highly technical issues, and then also interact with construction personnel on constructability, schedule, and cost issues as well
Proven track record and ability to multi-task and oversee multiple projects at once
Required Skillsets:
Electrical construction and commissioning means and methods knowledge including NEC and NFPA
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration and troubleshooting
E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup and troubleshooting
Protection and Controls implementation and troubleshooting
Drawing review quality control inspection
Progress reporting
Computer skills Outlook, PDF edit Word, Excel, document control systems and PowerPoint
Management of third parties and suppliers
Management of direct report team members
Schedule and planning understanding
Job Description:
To work on behalf of the project Owner as a Commissioning Manager on a portfolio of renewable energy (wind, solar, battery storage). This position is responsible for execution of assigned renewable power plant projects and teams as it relates to commissioning, start up and operational turnover.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring commissioning activities for assigned projects are performed with high quality and adhering to all Nextera Energy and FPL safety policies.
Responsible for coordination and management of, EPC contractor personnel, OEM start up personnel, third party start up contractors, and operations personnel on site, as it relates to site commissioning and startup.
Responsible for project reliability at operational turnover with plants exhibiting as little lost time as necessary in initial operation.
Responsible for compliance with all project contractual documents to include Power Purchase Agreement and Large Generator Interconnect Agreement deliverables with local utility
Ensure proper interface is made with Transmission Operators and Independent Service Operators to ensure project energization dates are achieved.
Management of Clients onsite commissioning personnel
Interfaces with project's designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
