Job Summary
GTTSi is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Transmission & Substation (T&S) to lead large, complex infrastructure projects from budgetary approval through construction, placement in service, and final closeout.
This role requires strong engineering knowledge, project management expertise, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams while meeting safety requirements, approved budgets, schedules, and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all phases of assigned transmission and substation projects, from budgetary approval through completion and closeout.
Lead cross-functional project teams, including Engineering, Real Estate, Siting & Permitting, Legal, Environmental, Integrated Supply Chain, Business Services, External Affairs, Construction, and Operations.
Develop and maintain project management plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
Coordinate with T&S Construction on construction scheduling, clearance planning, and project execution.
Oversee safety management and ensure safety expectations are incorporated into project planning and execution.
Monitor project costs and prepare monthly spending forecasts and budget reports.
Manage contract administration and coordinate project commitments with internal teams and external partners.
Prepare and submit required Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) compliance documentation.
Provide timely project reports and communicate progress, risks, changes, and key decisions to stakeholders.
Work directly with T&S major project leadership to resolve challenges and maintain project delivery.
Coordinate placement in service, final documentation, and project closeout.
Represent the company’s best interests throughout all assigned project activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
15 or more years of experience leading transmission, substation, or related infrastructure projects.
High-level engineering and project management expertise supporting large, complex projects.
Strong skills in schedule management, budget forecasting, risk management, and contract administration.
Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate construction and operational requirements.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of FERC compliance requirements applicable to transmission and substation projects.
Preferred Qualification
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
