Johnson Service Group of Huntsville, has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer position in Huntsville. The candidate will be assisting government and commercial customers in the design of space systems hardware and components. Our client would like to start interview by the end of this week. Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for developing plastic and machined metal components, including load bearing structural sheet metal parts, using sound mechanical engineering & design principles. The Mechanical Design Engineer Candidate will be responsible for developing Bills of Material (BoMs) and writing component level specifications for mechanical assemblies, applying industry recognized engineering design processes for all phases of design from Design for Manufacturability (DFM), drawing production, Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), configuration management, through integration and development of mechanical systems.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering and minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry.
1. Candidate must have Space or Flight Hardware Design experience.
2. 3D modeling and CAD software experience, preferably with space flight hardware, and preferably with SOLIDWORKS.
3. PDM/PLM systems experience is highly preferred.
4. Finite Element Modeling (FEM) software package experience is also desired.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or be willing to relocate to the North Alabama area.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
