Job Description:

1. All Assessors:
a. Must be able to use a tablet/stylus in the field to enter data. Paper/pen in the field with data entry at night means 12-14 hr days, loss of quality, and failure to meet schedule. I can't express how important this is to be able to use a tablet effectively.
b. General Traits: Quick learner. Driven. Team Player (I call assessments a team sport because you are 1 of 5 people and have a single goal each day.) Ability to work well with others.
c. Must be able to handle the physical requirements. 10-15k steps a day is normal. Lots of ladders/stairs.
d. Must be able to follow our processes and rules.
e. Must take pride in capturing quality data and being part of a team.
f. Must take pride in our military and the fact that the data we collect helps make decisions on the facilities that are used to train/support our soldiers all around the world.
2. Key difference makers when selecting assessors:
a. BUILDER experience. If someone has experience with this program this would be an awesome find.
b. Military experience. Ex-vets are great to have on bases. They get the lingo and know how to act. It would be nice if they have facility experience from their time served. If not, we can fit a couple in on the less complicated roles (plumbing).
c. Facility management experience/specific discipline experience (outlined below).
3. If located in Omaha/San Antonio/Charlotte
a. These need to be engineers-it-training (EIT's), BIM modelers, or PE's.

Work Environment:

Field based work on multiple military installations. 2 weeks in field - working 50 hours a week, then 2 weeks at home handling administrative function, the first week working 40 hours, the second week at home they would be off.


Candidates must be a United States citizen

i. Ability to identify all types of hydronic (chilled water/hot water) components. Boilers/Chillers, pumps, air separators, pot feeders, expansion tanks, etc.
ii. Ability to identify all types of packaged systems
iii. Ability to identify air-side components, VAV's, air handlers, etc.
iv. Ability to identify all types of exhaust fans
v. Ability to identify split systems
vi. Ability to identify VFD's and other control systems
vii. Ability to identify elevators and other conveyance components (I can train this easily)
viii. Ability to ask questions when not sure about a certain component and how to inventory it.
b. Plumber
i. Ability to count fixtures (toilets, sinks, etc)
ii. Ability to use estimate linear feet of piping (or use a formula provided to calculate it).
iii. Ability to identify water heaters
iv. Ability to identify pumps
v. Ability to identify backflow preventers
vi. Ability to count fire protection devices (horns/strobes/pull stations/etc)
vii. Ability to follow the rules on inventorying a FP system.
viii. Ability to identify maintenance equipment (lift, air compressors, etc)
ix. Ability to identify stair types (metal/wood/concrete) and whether they are 1 flight or 2

Additional Info:

Candidates need to be comfortable with travel, they need to have their own credit card and the ability to cover the cost of their own flights and pay for the group rate (discounted) hotels at the working location, baggage fees, and transportation to the airport when they leave their home of record. They will turn in their expense report every two weeks after travel.
