Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Dahlgren, VA. This position is part time. You are imaginative and resourceful, using your skills in AutoCAD and/or PSpice to simulate new designs. Your hands-on experience in printed circuit board design and electronics, as well as any Navy experience, makes you stand out in this role. Ensure compliance with established standards, guides, precedents, methods, and techniques within discipline.
Establish electrical and electronic engineering design criteria and provides guidance and evaluation for facility projects.
Assist in the development and recommend design approaches for new and improved products and or processes.
Conduct technical investigation involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related scientific field and at least 5 years of full-time professional experience working as an Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer.
In lieu of degree requirement, at least 13 years of full-time professional experience working as an Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer.
Proficiency in 3D modeling (Inventor/Solid Works) to assist them in efficiently performing computations, and by permitting the modeling and simulation of new designs as well as facilitating changes to existing designs.
Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) for design data processing and for turning the design into a product.
Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen.
Must have an active Secret security clearance.
Proficient in Microsoft Visio
