Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Permanent Placement position as an Assistant Project Manager – Facility Manager opportunity for our customer in Augusta, GA for Fort Gordon.

Assistant Project Manager – Facility Manager

Exempt, Full-Time

SUMMARY

The position is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with leadership, management, profitability, and customer satisfaction of facilities operations and maintenance support on Fort Gordon. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plans, directs, and controls the management of the Structures (carpentry, HVAC, welding, signage, plumbing and electrical), Heating Plant, Roads & Grounds, Vehicle/Equipment Maintenance, Pest Control, Wastewater Treatment, and Refuse; and ensures all contractual obligations are fulfilled, quality standards are met, and associated expectation of performance are achieved.
Provides expert direction and guidance to subordinates, develops schedules, and formulates work plans.
Responsible for insuring compliance with corporate and local policies and procedures, including but not limited to: safety, property accountability, employee training, and business processes.
Is a point of contact for project site personnel, customers and the corporate office.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum requirements for this position are a Bachelor of Science Degree in Facility Management or Administration and 15 or more years of experience managing Base Operations Support Functions and familiarity with Army cost and software data programs.  A valid Georgia Driver’s License, ability to maintain military gate pass access, and ability to obtain Department of Defense (DOD) secret clearance required.

Be a highly effective communicator to all levels within the company and with customers, including the ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, senior management and staff members.  Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, groups of managers, customers, state and federal agencies, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts. 

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Must possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Must have strong strategic and analytical skills and sound business judgement.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will work in an office environment with regular visits to shops and work-sites where conditions will vary from site to site. Some travel to project locations may be required as well as some evening, weekend and holiday hours.
