Sirius Technical Services is seeking a Site Logistics Manager for the New Orleans, LA area for a long term job opportunity.

Develop and recommend potential distribution strategies for serving bulk deliveries which provide required levels of service, reliability, and product quality at the best total cost of use. Develop relevant & measurable service level KPI's for carrier reliability. Measure results against goals and establish improvement plans as needed

Acquire a high level of knowledge and ability with regard to the ERP (SAP) systems that impacts Logistics and Inventory to create digital solutions to increase the automation and effectiveness of logistics activities.

Job Duties:
Coordinates deployment and operating issues for dedicated transport equipment pools, 150 rail cars and 14 ISO tanks, and of dedicated transport 3PLs and to assure utilization within established targets.
Coordinates among Sales/CSD, plants, 3rd party warehouses/terminals, Logistics, carriers, and customers, to ensure shipment and delivery meeting the stated service requirements.
Site level primary point of contact between 3PLs, BL-MA Customer Service, Plant Departments, BL-MA Logistics, and Procurement Services.
Prepare corresponding month end reports.
In conjunction with site production operations, evaluate non-strategic raw material requirements to support production schedules. Work with procurement and/or make releases as required. Manage personnel in coordinating inbound deliveries of all raw materials.

Qualifications
3 - 5 years of experience in the field or related areas such as rail transport, bulk transport, bulk terminal, or carrier operations preferred, ideally within the chemical industry
Bachelorís degree & minimum of 1 year of logistics experience with focus on internal or external customers - or- a minimum of five years (without the degree) Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred but not required.
Knowledge of domestic transportation regulations, carrier operations, load optimization and material handling preferred
Knowledge of Import and Export processes
Strong mathematical, analytical, computer and communications skills
Advanced capability with Personal Computer tools: Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
Compile, maintain and update daily, weekly and monthly reports as needed.
Participate in quality teams and groups as needed.
