1 st shift HVAC/R Technician IV for our industrial operations & maintenance team in Pomona, MO! Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday, 07:00am – 3:30pm ; hours may vary based on business demand.
The HVAC/R Technician IV is responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive maintenance on the industrial HVAC equipment in an industrial, large commercial, or logistics environment.
Must have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot Boilers, Compressors, Air Dryers, Air conditioners Water Softeners, Chillers, Freezers, Air Handlers Pumps, Gearboxes, Bearings, Blowers, Fans, and other equipment as required. Strong mechanical/electrical skills are required.
Knowledge of building automation system software supporting HVAC, water, steam and power distribution. Provides instruction, mentors and trains less skilled technicians as needed. May perform all aspects of preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on industrial systems including, but not limited to: pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors and coolant systems. Knowledge of PLC programming and / or troubleshooting is highly desired.
Effectively communicates with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve complex electrical problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems.
The HVAC/R Technician IV must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.
•Performs preventive and corrective maintenance to a wide variety of facility related equipment.
•Diagnoses and troubleshoots ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, rooftop AHU’s, split systems, compressors, refrigeration, etc. in an industrial environment.
•Troubleshoots and diagnoses electrical circuits ranging from 24V AC/DC and up, including lighting and load centers.
•Demonstrates a solid understanding of large building HVAC systems and their mechanical/electrical controls.
•Troubleshoots and repairs heat exchange equipment.
•Utilize meggers, voltmeters, multi-meters, etc.
•Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical issues.
•Responds to and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
•Recommends activities to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
•Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
•Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
•Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/Tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
•Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
•Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
•Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment, yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
•Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
•We run our own crews of Production Maintenance Techs, CNC Service Techs, Automation Techs, Industrial Electricians, Maintenance Mechanics, Industrial HVAC Techs, Planner/ Schedulers, Supervisors and safety professionals inside our customers’ facilities to keep their infrastructure operating smoothly.
1.High School Diploma or demonstrated equivalent
2.Five years of experience as an HVAC/R maintenance technician in an industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
3.Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
•Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
•This position may require a valid Driver’s License.
•This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
•This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
•This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
•Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
•Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
•Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
•Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
•Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
•Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
•Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
•Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
•Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
•Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
•Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
•Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
•Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
1.Associate’s degree in Industrial HVAC, Industrial Electrical, Mechanical Maintenance, or related program.
2.Experience programming, troubleshooting and/or repairing HVAC with building automation systems (especially Johnson, Metasys, and Andover) in an industrial or research facility environment.
3.Experience with alignments and timing machines using precision calibration tools.
4.Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes, supply and exhaust fans, power transmission components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
5.Experience in building commissioning, utilizing building automation systems including documenting and programming corrections and Standard Operating Procedures
6.Experience in process cooling water, chillers, and/or compressors.
7.Experience in utility cost management.
8.Ability to work safely with 3-phase power up to and including 480V.
9.Knowledge of PLC programming and / or troubleshooting is highly desired.
•Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
