Contract / Temp to Direct / Direct Hire: Direct Hire

MachineMetrics, Inc. develops and integrates award-winning production monitoring software for manufacturing companies. The Applications Engineer travels to our new client’s shops to connect their machines to our software.

As a growing startup, we are seeking an individual who excels at working independently and responsibly, with a strong ability to troubleshoot. The ideal candidate will be personable and responsive to our customers, and love to travel, and has spent lots of time in factories and machine shops.

This position requires some knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations. Candidates must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient, and must also be able to understand and make decisions based on technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, or instructions. They must also be motivated to work on their own and as part of a team. Strong communication skills are a necessary part of this position.

Interface machine control circuitry with data monitoring equipment
Set-up an onsite server, configure IP addresses, and other networking tasks
Make decisions based on technical documents and blueprints
Convey information efficiently between customers and the integration team
Observe safety procedures and meet electrical codes


Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in a related field
Experience working on CNC and automated manufacturing equipment
IT/networking knowledge is a must
PLC Programming experience preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of electrical systems and industrial equipment
Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations
Familiarity with equipment lock out procedures
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents
Willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc


This position requires a significant (70-80%) amount of travel to various locations, often with short notice. Candidates will only be considered if they possess a valid driver’s license, passport, and are able to travel without restriction. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
