Job Title: Site Materials Supervisor

Job Summary:

Supervises and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in Kitting, Material Handling, and Inventory Control. Completes all required documentation. It is expected that approximately 40% of this position will be spent on documentation in an office environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•Coordinate and supervise activities of workers to effectively manager Material Handling and Inventory Control and maximize productivity and efficiency.
•Audit operations to ensure personnel are following all safety and operations procedures properly and effectively.
•Work directly with Customer to prioritize tasks and duties.
•Ability to identify and solve any kitting discrepancies.
•Perform clerical and supervisory duties related to shipping, receiving, kitting, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies. Materials may be hazardous.
•Maintain documentation and traceability of material.
•Have a strong understanding of inventory control measures.
•Completes paperwork or forms required for documentation to receive materials and verify materials to ensure the accuracy of the delivery. Identify and solve all discrepancies.
•Enters and maintains records in the computer using appropriate Customer programs.
•Must have the ability to work independently as well as foster positive work practices in a team environment.
•Must have the ability to balance multiple tasks/priorities and delegate as necessary.
•Must have the knowledge and ability to train all employees in work processes.
•Ability to help SIC and Customer develop site appropriate materials and stockroom processes and procedures.
•Perform inspections of work areas, TSP’s, equipment, and tools to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC’s safety program.
•Lead or facilitate weekly Toolbox Safety Meetings with crew.
•Complete all Safety, Supervisor, and general job training as required by SIC.
•Perform other job duties as assigned by manager.

1.Experience in the development and implementation of materials-related processes at a Process Safety Management (PSM) chemical manufacturing plant.
2.Preferred 5+ years relevant maintenance experience supervising mechanical, electrical and outside contractors.
3.Strong ability to effectively use CMMS. (Maximo preferred).
4.Strong ability to effectively use Oracle.
5.Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement process preferred.
6.Experience working at chemical and/or manufacturing plant in supervisory position preferred.
7.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8.Excellent organizational / coordination skills.
9.Good “people skills” and ability to work effectively in a team.
10.Good understanding of applicable local and corporate regulations, standards and industry practices.
11.Good skills and understanding in use of standard software applications required in performance of work – e.g. e-mail, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
12.Able and willing to work off shift as required

Experience and qualifications:

An individual with extensive experience in materials handling and inventory control, excellent planning skills, and the ability to develop processes and procedures related to materials handling and inventory control. Experienced Supervisor with background and experience with Maximo, Oracle and PSM requirements. A Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree with a minimum of three years’ experience or High School Diploma / GED with 8 years’ experience in materials handling and supervision.
