Highly skilled mechanic who safely performs diagnostic, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as, but not limited to: Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders.

• Perform the removal, repair and installation of transmissions, engines, breaks, differentials, pumps, motors, torque converters, final drives and other heavy equipment systems or components
• Perform mechanical and lubrication preventive maintenance on machine systems such as: hydraulic, power train and engines
• Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed
• Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections
• Operate mobile equipment such as: overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks
• Perform welding such as: Carbon Arc, Plasma, MIG, TIG, and Stick
• Perform as a Fill-in Supervisor as required
• Train and mentor other employees
• Perform other duties as required


Minimum Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in Heavy Equipment mechanical maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance
• Ability to prioritize repairs and possess excellent decision making skills
• Ability to troubleshoot machine systems
• Ability to work and effectively communicate with others
• Ability to read and use blueprints


Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• At least five (5) years of experience performing mechanical troubleshooting, repair and maintenance work on Caterpillar equipment
• Previous Caterpillar SIS and ET experience
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems
