Highly skilled mechanic who safely performs diagnostic, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as, but not limited to: Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders.
Perform the removal, repair and installation of transmissions, engines, breaks, differentials, pumps, motors, torque converters, final drives and other heavy equipment systems or components
Perform mechanical and lubrication preventive maintenance on machine systems such as: hydraulic, power train and engines
Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed
Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections
Operate mobile equipment such as: overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks
Perform welding such as: Carbon Arc, Plasma, MIG, TIG, and Stick
Perform as a Fill-in Supervisor as required
Train and mentor other employees
Perform other duties as required
Two (2) years of experience in Heavy Equipment mechanical maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance
Ability to prioritize repairs and possess excellent decision making skills
Ability to troubleshoot machine systems
Ability to work and effectively communicate with others
Ability to read and use blueprints
High School diploma or GED
At least five (5) years of experience performing mechanical troubleshooting, repair and maintenance work on Caterpillar equipment
Previous Caterpillar SIS and ET experience
Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems
