[Materials Manager] Material Control Manager

The Material Control Manager reports operationally to the Construction Manager. Responsibilities include receiving and protecting all materials and equipment, staging materials for turnover to Contractor employees for installation, as well as procurement activities to support the Construction Management team.
• Set up and direct material control and warehousing procedures for owner purchased material.
• Implementation of a Material Management System and ensure strict adherence to and upkeep of the same.
• Receive, store and protect material and equipment
• Promptly inspect all shipments for damages and/or shortages.
• Ensure that all documentation, such as Receiving Reports, Over-Short or Damage Report, Return to Vendor Report, Transfer of Equipment and/or Materials is prepared correctly and promptly.
• Arrange for periodic maintenance of stored equipment in strict accordance with manufacturers recommendations.
• Ensure proper warehousing and/or storage of equipment and materials.
• Expedite purchase orders thru if required.
• Implement procedures for turnover of materials and equipment to the field contractors and properly execute and maintain the turnover documents.
• Coordinate and control on-site traffic and lay-down utilization.
• Maintain a running inventory of all material, equipment, tools and consumable supplies on site.
• Supervise the activities of Warehouse Personnel. .
WORKING HOURS: Work would be at the client’s plant site and a normal work week would be Monday thru Friday, eight (8) hours per day. The client does not normally require work beyond scheduled work hours, but when required this employee would be normally expected to work the additional time required. Work direction and supervision would be by the client’s personnel. Duration of this assignment is listed as one – two years depending on the progress of expansions.
