Now hiring for welder/mechanics to work in a heavy industrial environment performing rail car repair. The job will be 60% mechanical repair and 40% welding. This will be fluxcore/mig welding, some stick welding.Candidates need to be OK climbing ladders, working at heights (on top of cars) and climbing beneath rail cars and working out of position, Candidates should NOT expect to be welding for their entire shift. They will be completing a variety of repairs and may only be welding a small amount of the time. Experience with the following preferred: tow motors, cranes, torches, carbon arc cutting, painting, grinding. Must be able to pass a weld test that consists of 3 plates. It is 0.45 fluxcore welding. Horizontal/Overhead/Vertical. This is a very physical job- candidates must have the ability to bend, lift, climb, twist, stoop, kneel etc. This is NOT an easy position physically.
Entry-level candidates will be considered. Must be available for 1st OR 2nd shift. 1st shift is Monday-Friday 6AM-2:30PM with over time. Some Saturday over time required.
2nd shift is Sunday-Wednesday 4PM-2:30AM with over time. Some Thursday over time required.
