Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. This worker may operate hand trucks or pallet jacks in performing warehousing duties Specific Responsibilities of the Job Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material Possess basic knowledge of inspection/examination procedures for material Loads material on and off skids, pallets, stands Prepares labels as required Prepares reports as required Receives data from and input data and other automated systems in performance of duties Must have ability to obtain license to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Performs all other duties as assigned Physical Environment & Demands Work requires standing, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, and sitting, walking and occasionally working in cramped and awkward positions. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
