Shift: Monday to Thursday, 3:30 pm to 1:30 am

Job Description

As the Nightshift Shop Supervisor, you will oversee a team of approximately 15 skilled tradespeople during the afternoon shift. You will be responsible for managing workflow, delegating tasks, ensuring safety and quality standards, and occasionally working hands-on with mechanical and electrical systems. This is a long-term leadership role ideal for someone with a strong mechanical experience and a passion for team development and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of the nightshift crew (approximately 15 staff).
* Delegate tasks effectively to ensure production goals and deadlines are met.
* Perform hands-on mechanical and electrical work as needed.
* Support and mentor team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
* Communicate regularly with the Shop Foreman and supervisors.
* Monitor and report on shift performance, productivity, and any issues.
* Assist in training new employees and evaluating performance.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop floor.
* Mechanical Responsibilities 25% of the time

Essential Skills
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in heavy equipment and industrial settings.
* Ability to read production drawings and a tape measure.
* 4-5+ years of experience in a heavy industrial setting.
* Proven experience leading a team in a supervisory role.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Heavy Duty Mechanic, Welder, or Commercial Equipment Technician.
* Forklift and Overhead Crane experience.
* Experience with concrete pumps, sandblasting, industrial paint, or polishing.
* Customer-focused with a business-minded, people-first leadership style.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
* Comfortable working late shifts and occasional overtime.

Work Environment

Work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment with a clean and spacious shop. The facility includes the largest paint booth in the lower mainland, equipped with automated lifts. The work is diverse, requiring flexibility to assist different departments as needed. The role is based in Aldergrove, BC, working an afternoon shift, with overtime available on Fridays.
