About the Role

Responsibilities

* Install, maintain, and repair water heaters, boilers, and piping systems.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot toilet systems to ensure compliance with building codes.
* Service and maintain air compressors and related plumbing connections.
* Perform routine inspections and recommend preventive maintenance solutions.
* Collaborate with facilities engineers and maintenance staff to maintain high performance.
* Ensure all work meets safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
* Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
* Assist with other facilities maintenance tasks as needed.

Essential Skills

* 35 years of plumbing experience in industrial, commercial, or facilities settings.
* Strong knowledge of boiler systems, water heaters, and compressed air systems.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills and proactive problem-solving mindset.
* Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and environmental regulations.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment

This role supports multiple research and development facilities in Palo Alto, Fremont, and Hayward. While youll have a home location, occasional travel between sites is required. Facilities operate 24/7, and flexibility for weekends and additional shifts is essential. This is a non-union facility with casual attire; uniforms are provided for engineers.
