We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to operate, set up, and maintain CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has strong machining fundamentals, understands precision tolerances, and is capable of producing high-quality parts consistently and safely.
Responsibilities
* Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines to produce precision components.
* Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T symbols to determine machining requirements.
* Program, edit, and troubleshoot G-code/M-code at the machine as needed.
* Perform tooling setup, including selecting, installing, and adjusting cutting tools and fixtures.
* Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
* Conduct first-article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure product quality.
* Adjust feeds, speeds, offsets, and toolpaths to maintain accuracy and surface finish.
* Maintain and update production documentation, travelers, and inspection records.
* Identify machining problems (chatter, dimensional errors, poor finish) and implement corrective actions.
* Operate CAM software (if applicable) for simulations, toolpaths, and program adjustments.
* Work closely with engineers, quality control, and other machinists to resolve issues.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area and follow all safety protocols.
Essential Skills
* Proficient in CNC machine operation (mills, lathes, or both).
* Strong blueprint and technical drawing interpretation skills.
* Solid understanding of GD&T principles.
* Skilled in precision measurement and inspection techniques.
* Ability to set work offsets, tool offsets, and perform machine setups.
* Knowledge of tooling selection and machining best practices.
* Basic to advanced CNC programming skills (G-code/M-code).
* Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and optimize processes.
* Familiarity with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, etc.) is a plus.
* Understanding of different materials (metals, plastics, composites) and how they machine.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Strong problem-solving abilities.
* Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
* Effective time management; able to run multiple machines when required.
* Strong safety awareness and adherence to shop safety protocols.
* 25 years CNC machining experience preferred.
* Technical school or machining certificate a plus.
* Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, or similar controls.

Work Environment
Work four 10-hour shifts from Monday through Thursday, 6am to 4:30pm. The environment includes exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, and metal chips. Be prepared to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
