Job Description
The primary function of the Electronic Technician is to support all assigned maintenance activities. This role requires active participation in maintenance tasks and collaboration with various teams to address equipment issues and ensure operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Address any outages seen and ensure compliance with the Maintenance Manager.
* Collaborate with Operations to address equipment issues as needed.
* Support daily jobs in coordination with operations, planners, and engineers.
* Work with outside resources and contractors to support daily workload.
* Serve as a conduit for two-way communication between operators and maintenance resources.
* Coordinate with operations to ensure effective downtime utilization.
* Communicate with Planners regarding exceptions to the operations schedule.
* Participate in morning meetings with safety topics and emergency work discussions.
* Perform all tasks safely, adhering to safety regulations and wearing required PPE.
* Participate in Behavioral-Based Safety (BBS) programs.
* Understand and comply with safety rules, including LOTO policy and NFPA 70E guidelines.
Essential Skills
* Troubleshooting skills, especially with Siemens PLC and analog circuits.
* Experience in contact tracing and PLC troubleshooting.
* Knowledge of 480 volts systems, building motors, and VFDs.
* Ability to troubleshoot remotely using a laptop.
* Understanding of ladder logic.
* Familiarity with NFPA 70E and safe electrical work practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience in a heavy industrial environment.
* Medium voltage experience ranging from 4k volts to 13k volts is preferred.
* SCADA experience is an asset.
* Candidates with a 2-year degree in fields like Electronic Engineering or Industrial Systems Technology are preferred.
* Experience in nuclear submarines or utilities/water system service is advantageous.

Work Environment
This position is in a heavy industrial environment with equipment such as extrusion equipment, winders, instrumentation & controls, air rings, gearboxes, bearings, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, hoppers, vacuum tubes, slitters, and wrappers. Note that the facility is not climate controlled. Shift work includes a rotation of 5 days on, 2 days off, followed by 2 days on, 5 days off, with day shifts running from 7 am to 7 pm, and night shifts from 7 pm to 7 am. Initial training occurs Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5 pm.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $87360.00/yr.
Retirement: A 401(k) savings plan allows contributions up to 50% of compensation, with a discretionary non-elective contribution from the company (7.0% in 2024 and 2023).
